Commercial control

See the commercial consequence while you can still change it.

Most delivery problems become commercial problems eventually. Aria keeps the contract, budget, rates, cost and forecast beside the delivery record so the financial consequence of a delivery movement is visible early rather than at month end.

Finance on the project, not beside it

Each project's finance view is organised around four questions: Financial position, Budget & changes, Billing & cash, and Delivery costs. Contract value records what the client agreed to pay; the cost budget records what delivery is allowed to cost; logged time, expenses, suppliers and remaining work build the current cost position.

From those inputs Aria maintains cost at completion, forecast margin and an explicit favourable or adverse variance against the cost budget. If the plan is the only available baseline, it is labelled provisional rather than presented as an approved budget.

    Baseline

    • Contract value and cost budget kept distinct
    • Rate cards and role rates
    • Milestones and billing terms

    Actual

    • Labour cost from approved time
    • Expenses and other costs
    • Invoiced and outstanding amounts

    Forward

    • Estimate at completion
    • Forecast margin
    • Cost variance against the original baseline

Financial maths is calculated, not generated

Financial figures in Aria come from structured project and commercial information through deterministic calculation. Generative AI is used to explain and summarise, never to produce an amount.

Where an input is missing — people without cost rates, effort not yet logged — Aria states the limitation alongside the figure rather than filling the gap with something plausible.

When delivery moves, the money moves

A project starts running late. The additional effort implies additional labour cost; that cost changes forecast margin; the moved dates change when revenue is expected and may put a contractual date under pressure.

Aria connects those steps explicitly so the conversation can happen while options still exist — rephasing, reassigning, or raising a change request — rather than after the result is fixed.
